  • Newsletters (October-91) indicate that the event was not held in 1970
  • Washington Post indicates a race on 3/15
1971

1972
  • 54 starters in Senior race
  • 2 french amateurs brought by Mel Pinto. One, Jean Zamo, wins

  • Program layout indicates that Mel Pinto solicited most of the advertising.
  • 98 starters senior race (40 Juniors, 32 Intermediates, 16 women, 11 Masters) Donna Tobias and Mary Jane Reoch raced with the men.

  • Sponsored by Miller High Life as part of the
  • John David Wallace died after crashing in the combined Senior III/Veteran race.

  • 5/13 Maryland Road Classic was listed as National Prestige
