Whitney, Henry M. III

Biography

  • Son of Hank Whitney who was the first NCVC president
  • retired from racing 1971
  • won the 1970 Junior National Championship, held in New York's Central Park on 8/21/1970. New York times reported 29.65 miles in 1:59:44. The article, however, describes the race as 8 laps of a course that was probably about 6 miles long. Wayne Stetina, one of the most accomplished US racers of the 1970s finished second
