Cabruce Road Racing Skills Clinic

Day:
Saturday's, 9:30 AM (Winter Only: December --> March)
Location:
Hains Point, Washington D.C. (google map)
or
Spokes Etc., Vienna, VA (google map)
Duration:
3:00
Type:
The Cabruce rides (named for the founder Bruce Oliver and our old meeting place, the Caboose in Vienna) are a very structured road racing skills clinic for folks new to the sport. Instead of sitting in a classroom for a few hours and then going out to ride around for a little while on one day, we work on the essentials of bike handling, race tactics, crash avoidance, and some fitness training every Saturday (weather permitting) between December and March.

There is a logical progression to the topics each week with a focus on not riding too hard in this part of the off-season when base fitness building is so important. As we get closer to the start of the season the intensity and skills will advance and you should be ready to try the training races that start in mid February.

We will normally meet at 9:30am at either Hains Point in DC or at Spokes Etc Vienna depending on the terrain needed for the session. Occasionally the time will move later to allow for some warming of temperatures. We will work on riding skills with discussion stops in between until 12:30 pm and call it a day. Please go to the Cabruce list homepage to join and see the calendar, files on various topics, and other stuff.
